An intervention that saved the day

Weaning people off big banks proves to be a winning strategy

Addison Avenue Federal Credit Union was looking to expand its membership in a big way. To achieve their goals, they knew they needed some extra firepower. That’s when they turned to Weber Marketing Group.

Working with Weber, Addison Avenue launched an aggressive member acquisition campaign that revolved around the idea of a “bank intervention.” The campaign highlighted the advantages of working with a credit union and numerous outstanding product offers. This included developing a microsite that housed a video series of a mock bank intervention, numerous promotions and “Five reasons why we’re better than any bank.”

Addison has added 1,700 new members to the rolls in the first two months of the campaign.

The microsite was promoted using online ads, e-mails, a Twitter contest, in-branch merchandising and live street teams.
